Venetian Blinds in the Movies

Venetian Blinds are the stuff of cinema.

If you're a production designer you may very well know that Venetian Blinds are a staple with detective dramas, crime thrillers, classic noir films.

Or even anxious adolescent teen flicks where you have the protagonist spying on the next door neighbor.

Who can blame them for using Venetian Blinds? They provide great lighting opportunity for cinematographers- you can have total morning light or have a dark room in seconds. Or have a protagonist's face lit through the Venetian blinds. In Noir films, you can find a detective lifting one slat up the Venetian blinds and spy whosoever on the street. Pretty nifty, ey?
